Peer Review Process

Once a contribution has been received, the chief editor and the Chief Editor evaluate whether the content is in accordance with the Journal's approach, conduct a pre-review and verify whether the format requested by the journal has been met according to the type of contribution. article (equator-network.org) and the author's guidelines. The receipt of an article does not imply a commitment to publication.

If so, the manuscript is evaluated by the Section Editor, who identifies the originality of the article with the anti-plagiarism programs (URKUND) and if the content meets the expectations of the Journal. In the event of obtaining a negative criterion, the Section Editor decides to resign from the Peer Review process.

For the Review process, the Oncology Journal has the collaboration of national and international specialists in hemato-oncology and related sciences (Internal Medicine, Genetics, Radio-oncology, Palliative Care, among others), as well as experts in Research Methodology, who anonymously evaluate the following aspects:

·The article falls within the specialty of hemato-oncology.

·The article is clearly circumscribed as original article, clinical case, bibliographic review, and others.

· It meets all the basic requirements that are required by the authors' guidelines.

· The research idea is clear and interesting.

· There is current knowledge of the topic to be published.

· It presents a correct methodology in writing the manuscript.

The verdict of the reviewers can be:

· Accepted as is

· Accepted if corrected adequately

· Rejected

For the review process, the COPE guidelines are taken into account. Corrections are sent to the authors anonymously and the reviewers accept or not the corrected article. The review period can last 3 weeks but could take a little longer due to the availability of the reviewers.

After acceptance of the paper, the text begins a layout process that may require style corrections and editorial changes. The PDF draft will be sent for final proofreading by the authors prior to publication
